UniCredit Bank and Payten have recently offered to the Serbian market an innovative solution for contactless payment with the help of Android appliances and without installation of a POS terminal - the FlexiPOS, which has proved to be ideal for small retailers. Milos Kubicela, the owner of the wireless phone repair shop and the first user of this application, shared with us his impressions about the advantages which the introduction of this payment manner brought to this business.
Why did you initially opt for this solution?
Our repair shop for wireless phones has regular and loyal customers, and in the communication with them I concluded that they wish to pay with cards. As a long-lasting and satisfied customer of the UniCredit Bank, I chose FlexiPOS due to the simple use and the lower transaction processing costs. I would stress as a special advantage that, in contrast to the standard POS terminal, FlexiPOS can be used without the obligation of monthly rental, and there is no condition of minimum realized turnover. For me, as an entrepreneur who does not have a high level of daily transactions, this proved to be the ideal solution.
How has FlexiPOS improved your everyday business?
Above all, FlexiPOS has offered more payment options to our customers, so now, in addition to the cash payment, they can also opt for cash-free payment with MasterCard and Visa payment cards. We, as a repair shop, have been granted more flexibility and time saving as the use of the application does not require the usual visit to the bank to deposit the earning from business. What is perhaps the most important, the money is at our disposal on the account in less than 24h!
How would you assess the user experience in the everyday work with this solution?
This application is very simple for installation and use on any Android appliance which supports the NFC technology. It is enough to download it from the Google Play shop, and after the registration it can be used immediately. The user experience is really excellent! Even if minor problems occur, UniCredit Bank will always provide a quick and efficient support.
How do end users react when you ask them to bring the card closer to the mobile phone to make the payment?
Although they are used to the contactless payment, some become a little confused when they see that the payment appliance is actually a mobile phone. Also, when for certain transactions the PIN has to be entered, a scrambled keyboard with numbers appears on the screen, which sometimes appears odd to the customers, but I always mention to them that this is necessary for security reasons. But as soon as the transaction is finished - everybody is surprised in a positive way!
