The migration project of DinaCard-UnionPay issuing, in-house solution, with Postal Savings Bank, Joint Stock Company, Belgrade to CHIP Card, a member of Payten, was successfully completed, whereby Chip Card became the issuer processor for the DinaCard-UnionPay joint (co-branded) card.
This is a synergy of Dina Card (RS national card) and Union Pay (Chinese national card) whose acceptance has been enabled on the entire DinaCard system acceptance network in Serbia, and this payment card can also be used on the entire global acceptance network of the UnionPay system.
The project of migration of DINA UPI issuing to Chip Card was launched in order to improve the existing architecture of this system in order to enable simpler and faster work of bank employees, improve the monitoring of system operation, and enable end-users to use it easily and safely.
One of the goals of the project was to have the entire processing for the Bank done from one center, in this case, the Chip Card processing house.
In the first stage of the project, 400 thousand DIN UPI co-branded cards were migrated to Chip Card, and the plan is for the Bank to issue about 2 million of these cards in the following period.
For the bank end users, there are no obvious differences between the co-branded credit cards and regular credit cards. The advantage is reflected in the possibility of a wider acceptance network and use of DinaCard-UnionPay cards in 175 countries and territories in the world.
