For the second time in a row, Payten, HR and Marketing teams organized a programming competition for young talents and gathered programmers and students from technical and other faculties who share a passion for innovation! The aim was to reach young people who want to engage in the payment industry and present ideas, relying on their exploratory spirit, talent, and knowledge.
Payten payment hackathon attracted a lot of interest, out of 26 teams, 9 teams were selected.
During 48 hours of the competition, passionate developers created and presented their android application solution for Android POS devices that provide practical support to merchants in their daily work. The winning team mTriam offered the most creative solution and won a cash prize of half a million dinars!
During the development of the project, participants had a support of business and technical mentors who guided them through the whole process and helped overcome the challenges and the whole event was supported by our partners from Visa, Castles and Delhaize.
I have to say that the jury members were almost unanimous when it came to the evaluations for the solutions of our hackathon teams. It's great to see all these young people who are on a great path as far as the profession and their future occupation is concerned. This is just the beginning for all of them and I wish them a lot of success in their further work – said Miljan Mališ, General Manager of Payten and President of the jury.
We are pleased to continue our cooperation with the winners and other great participants after this competition, which involves working together in real life on quality ideas and solutions.
