Clients and customers are increasingly demanding to pay with cards in places where this has not traditionally been the case, such as markets, taxi associations and service traders such as hairdressers, plumbers, and the like. In addition to established habits, there are also objective reasons why it is more difficult to offer non-cash payments in certain circumstances - outdoor or mobile business, POS machine costs, etc.
For the first time in Montenegro, business clients of CKB Bank can contract the use of CKB GO POS application and accept contactless cards anywhere without additional devices, using only their Android mobile phone or tablet.
"We are proud to start the year by launching CKB GO POS service thanks to which the final obstacle to a greater use of payment cards and contactless payment services will be removed. CKB GO POS service gives entrepreneurs and legal persons the opportunity to use a mobile phone as a standard POS terminal, thus enabling their customers to pay securely and easily. This is not only a big step in the process of banking services digitalization, but also a chance for various business owners to expand their operations. It is also important to note that CKB GO POS service is yet another result of the successful, long-lasting cooperation of our bank with the companies MasterCard and VISA, which will certainly continue in the period ahead of us" said Mr. Tamás Kamarási, Chairperson of the Management Board of CKB.
Accepting card payment via Android devices is commonly known as SoftPOS technology.
What is SoftPOS?
SoftPOS is an application that turns any Android device (eg mobile phone or tablet) into a standard POS terminal, without the need for additional devices. The main advantages of SoftPOS are ease of use in a small space or on the go and lower costs, as there is no need for any hardware procurement. Of course, all transactions carried out through SoftPOS are just as secure as on a "classic" POS device.
Who is this service for?
Primarily, Payten SoftPOS is intended for smaller retailers and the type of services where due to the nature of the business it is inconvenient to have many devices around (no desk or small space for example). In addition, SoftPOS has found its application in larger stores in times of increased traffic. In such conditions, employees who do not work at the cash registers (e.g. in clothing stores) can process payments anywhere in the store and thus reduce the pressure and queues at the cash registers – using SoftPOS for so-called 'sell off the shelf'.
